Do not underestimate the importance of this bug.

Legacy ibus-pinyin release you currently shipping is designed to work with IBus 1.4.x. As you've updated the IBus stack to IBus 1.5.x, you need to make sure the engines are also recent enough.

Legacy ibus-pinyin release also has many known bugs that have zero chance of getting fix.

Hey Aron, could you have a look to that? The new version is in Debian, we just need to build it with lua5.2 in Ubuntu (bug #1278901 is an approved MIR for libpyzy)

Package is uploaded but still waiting for libpyzy's MIR being completed. The package is in Dependency wait status right now.

    - debian/patches/ibus-pinyin-fixes-lua-compile.patch:
      Update patch to really fix build with lua 5.2.
    - debian/patches/lua52.diff:
      Use lua5.2 by default.
    - debian/control: Build-Depends on liblua5.2-dev.
