Hello and thank you for this bug report,

Is it possible to give us more details about your desktop environment (what's your DE (GNOME, KDE, XFCE, LXDE, etc.), what's the version of the dock, your distribution, etc.). Where is located your dock (is it possible to join a screenshot?)

> dock sometimes becames visible when the cursor is on the area that is nearly midpoint of the dock.

Is there a way to reproduce it each time? E.g. do you have this bug only when a window is maximised or only when switching from another desktop, etc.

My de is gnome 3.4 and i'm using Ubuntu 12.04 lts.

Cario-dock version is 3.0.0 and the dock is located at the right side of the screen.

Bug is not depends on if windows is maximised or not; it can always be reproduced but it happens when i move cursor along the area vertically for maybe 1-2 pixels, it does not becames visible after just hitting the midpoint. But when window is not maximised, the area slips through the window's vertical position.

I'm adding a screenshot.

Thank you for these details!

Just 2 others things:
Can you check if you have this bug with the latest stable version and/or with the development version. It's easy to install them simply by (temporary) adding our ppa (by using these commands):
* Stable:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cairo-dock-team/ppa
* Development:
   sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cairo-dock-team/weekly

Then:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Also, do you have this bug if the dock is on the top/bottom of the screen (some Window Manager reserves spaces on the right/left of the screen)

It's possible that this bug is already fixed in the latest version
(currently, 3.2).
If you have a way to install this version, I recommend you to do so :-)

@fabounet: do you have this bug?

I don't think so
I've set the dock to the right, enabled the "Hit the screen's corner"
option, the visibility is "hide when overlap current window", and the dock
only appears when I hit the corner (running XFCE)

Maybe it is specific to gnome 3 or maybe 3.4.

Yes, maybe...
But if we don't find the cause or a way to reproduce it, it will be hard to fix it :)

Can you try to reproduce it by changing components of your desktop environment? E.g. by using another session (your can change that at startup with GDM or LightDM) and/or by using another WM (e.g. by launching "metacity --replace" or "compiz --replace")

I tried it with Unity 5.20.0, Compiz wm and i was able to reproduce bug with them too.

Mmh, strange.

@fabounet: any idea? is it possible that it's due to Cairo-Dock' settings?

@kulkke: is it possible to create of package of your theme (from the config panel) and share it with us here?

hmm, I've set the configuration as said, but I can't say for sure it can't
be a side-effect of another parameter ^_^

Well, i used default settings when i tried with Unity and Compiz, i don't think it's due to dock settings.

Also i'm adding package of my theme.

thank you, indeed the input zone was set to a 1x1 rectangle due to a bug in
previous version of X (a completely empty input zone was not accepted).
I think we can remove this hack now.
