Update to latest upstream version

virt-manager 0.10.0 landed in Debian experimental http://packages.qa.debian.org/v/virt-manager.html, we'll have it in Ubuntu shortly when syncing.

virt-manager 1.0.0 is released upstream http://virt-manager.org/download/

The most recent version of virt-manager (1.0.0) is available in deb packages from ppa:jacob/virtualisation. See https://launchpad.net/~jacob/+archive/virtualisation?field.series_filter=trusty

I'm using virt-manager version 1.0.0 from ppa:jacob/virtualisation with Trusty, and it's working great for me.

I too hope that we can get virt-manager updated to version 1.0.0 in the repository for Trusty.

It is too late to get virt-manager 1.0.0 into trusty. The following packages are now dependencies and would require to be promoted to main:

python-ipaddr
libvirt-glib
spice-gtk
virt-viewer

This won't happen before 14.10.

This can be fixed by enabling Prefences->Console->Force console shortcuts .

      updated support status, and switch back to cirrus by default to get a
      reasonable screen size during installation.
    - debian/patches/virtinst/9006_fix_path_to_qemu-dm.patch: drop the full
      path from qemu-dm as already done for hvmloader and pygrub. The Xen
      tools will handle this and add the missing path.
  * debian/patches/add_qemu_binaries.patch: add the actual binary names
    from the qemu packages so default hypervisor detection works properly
    on first run.
  * debian/patches/fix_changing_graphics_type.patch: fix changing the
    graphics type in the details dialog.
  * debian/patches/hook_into_domain_balloon_event.patch: properly hook into
    hotplug events so memory size gets updated.
  * debian/patches/fix_showing_vcpus.patch: display the right number of
    vcpus in the customize dialog.
  * debian/patches/fix_whitespace_in_storage_name.patch: Fix using storage
    when the directory name contains whitespace
