This fix is available in the upstream 3.11-rc4 kernel. A PPA of this kernel is available at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and instructions on how to install and uninstall it are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-quantal-needed' to 'verification-quantal-done'.

If verification is not done by one week from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.
