libunity doesn't built against vala-0.20

libunity currently builds against vala-0.18 but that version of vala has been removed from Debian and will (probably) be removed from Saucy. libunity currently fails to build against the current default vala in Saucy (vala-0.20).

Please update libunity to build against vala-0.20 and change your build-depends from valac-0.18 (>= 0.16) to just valac (>= 0.16) to make future transitions easier.

libunity does build against valac-0.16 but 0.16 will be removed as soon as packages in Ubuntu don't need it any more.
