Looks like some change occurred in the output of xinput so that the following requirement fails:

It looks like this property was being used to distinguish between touchpads and touchscreens. A touchpad is 'dependent' on the relative position of the cursor on the screen, whereas a touchscreen is 'direct', and where you touch is translated into an exact co-ordinate. Seemingly the usage of these terms has been changed in X, so breaking our test. This may cause a big problem if the changes are not uniform across all versions of Precise.

This is the xinput_resource output from a system with a touchscreen display and a trackpad.

Here's xinput data from a system running precise (12.04.1 with all updates but no backported stacks). It's a Dell Inspiron 1545 with an ALPS touchpad that doesn't seem to support multitouch. It has no touch mode attribute.

Here's xinput from the same system but with the 3.5 kernel and backported X stack (sudo apt-get install --install-recommends linux-generic-lts-quantal xserver-xorg-lts-quantal libgl1-mesa-glx-lts-quantal).
