Bug Description
Check if connection keep-alive queries are redundant with DBD::mysql support in 2.1. They might be needed in 2.0 in addition to setting server's wait_timeout to prevent the mysql client from closing connections (with wait_timeout required to prevent server from closing connection). It may be redundant in 2.1.
