uswsusp does not depend on libusplash0

Bug Description

The uswsusp tools are all linked versus libusplash, but the package uswsusp 0.3~cvs20060928-6ubuntu3 does not depend on libusplash0.
Thus without manually installing libusplash the s2{disk,ram,both} tools does not work. resume from the initrd only starts working when I manually install the package usplash (otherwise libusplash is missing from initrd)

The usplash patch was applied incorrectly in the latest update. I'll attach a fixed version

Hi motu-sru,

I think this patch is worthy of an SRU. It fixes up a bad merge
that was done previously. The source package is pretty strange,
so it wouldn't have been obvious what to do when merging.
The changelog will need fixing to reflect that it is an SRU, I can
do that.

This package is eligible for merging in Intrepid, so it would be
fixed by merging the Ubuntu changes correctly in to that.

The issue is basically that the source packages contains two
copies of the source and the patch applies to the old one whereas
the new one is built. I believe the patch supplied simply changes
this to apply the patch to the correct code.

Thanks,

James

Hi,

Sorry for the noise, I was trying to minimise the patch, and it appears
as though usplash no longer has usplash_get_string which this
uses, so a rebuild with this patch would fail. I'm going to investigate
where that function has gone.

I guess SRU approval should wait until a working patch is found, but
I am not able to unsubscribe you, sorry.

Thanks,

James

Hi,

Please see bug 224709
for why this is difficult to solve in uswsusp.

Thanks,
