Bug Description

When I have certain applications maximized (i've seen this happen in firefox and rhythmbox so far) there are rendering glitches along the top right side. The wallpaper bleeds through, and sometimes there's a white line too. Only started happening recently. I tried turning off SNA in case it was related to SNA being turned on recently, but does it with UXA too, so seems to be a unity/compiz issue. My video card is intel HD4000, running raring 13.04 fresh installed today with all updates. Screenshot is attatched, you can see the blue wallpaper bleeding through on the top right of rhythmbox.

The glitch goes away if you un-maximize and re-maximize the app.

Step to reproduce: Maximize an application like firefox or rhythmbox, so it will remember that its maximized and open maximized next time you launch it. Close the application. Open it back up, and you will see the glitch on the top right. It only seems to happen if you launch the app maximized, if you open the app un-maximized, and then maximize it its fine.

This seems to be a regression caused by compiz r3623 (reverting that revision makes the gap disappear) and is not Unity related (this can be reproduced by just loading core and decor plugins).

@sampo555: Are you sure that this has nothing to do with Unity ? I cannot reproduce it anymore if I disable unityshell in CCSM.

Looks like the window is around 10 pixels too small and these are missing on the right side and can also be clicked through...
This is a serious bug and is affecting every maximized-opened window, should have high priority.

At least for me having unity loaded makes no difference. Starting compiz with 'compiz --replace core composite opengl decor' is enough to reproduce this issue (decor seems to be required to trigger this bug).

@sampo, yeah I'm seeing this issue using XFCE + compiz too, doesn't seem to be anything to do with unity.

Sam, this is how it looks here: http://uppix.net/f/b/c/b21d62d71a6d2a2b19dcc78b68d5c.png

Every application opened fullscreen seems to be affected - some 5-10 pixels are missing on the right hand side.
Happens with gtk-window-decorator, but also with Emerald.
Restoring the window and maximizing it again does not fix the issue here...

I cannot reproduce it without unityshell though, as a maximized window will not lose decorations then...
bug 1138152 describes the situation better imho, but it is marked as duplicate, so I am commenting here.

I have also seen this bug when opening any application in full screen mode. On the right side is the band width of 2 pixels. Graphics card - Intel.
