bright control does not work in gateway laptop display

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

YES it is.....

apart of that, after I upgraded to Gutsy, my machine lasts about 10
minutes to initiate Kubuntu because of the video card support.... I do
not know even if 3d works (didnt worked in previous versions)...

I would be glad to have some kind of solution, please tell me wich
diagnostics to do and wich information to send.....

wireless card is also not recognized

Using FN UP/DOWN I can change brightness and also with the following command:
sudo vbetool vbefp setbrightness <INTEGER> (min 65349 max 65532)
