Bug Description

Binary package hint: php5

Both php5-cli and php5-cgi packages have weird default values.

Until now all system I have seen comes with 8M or 16M default memory_limit in both CGI and CLI including warty, breezy, dapper and edgy, other distros and vanilla php.

Feisty has memory_limit=1232M in CLI and memory_limit=128M in CGI.

I've searched a bit and can't find the origin of this values so I think it must be a mistake.

Heh... I've tracked this down. Upstream (php) changed the default memory_limit to 128MB. During the build, we looked for "8M" (which was the default a long time ago) and replaced it with "32M"... So now "128M" was turned into "1232M" :) I'll just run a quick test and upload a fix a bit later.

php5 (5.2.3-1ubuntu5) gutsy; urgency=low

  * debian/rules:
    - Fix broken memory_limit mangling for php5-cli. (LP: #109079)
    - Don't clean out debian/copyright. (iz soyuz bug..)
  * debian/php5-cli.postinst, debian/rules:
    - Use same php.ini-dist for all flavours. The only difference used to be
      cli having a higher memory_limit value, but upstream has changed this to
      128MB, which is higher than both of the previous values.
