Bug Description

Binary package hint: pyneighborhood

Users don't care if an application is written in python, uses GTK1 or 2, etc.. Just tell them what it does in simple language:

"pyNeighborhood is GTK+ 2 rewrite of a well-known GTK+ 1 tool LinNeighborhood(using pyGTK), so it is the GUI frontend for samba tools, such as smbclient, smbmount etc. It's written in Python and uses the GTK+ 2 toolkit with pyGTK implementation."

I ask you.

Hi,

Just accidentally encountered this post... I am pyNeighborhood developer. Though I didn't packaged it for Ubuntu, I'll can update general description as it really may look rather confusing. I'll also notify package maintainer.

Great, glad someone reads this stuff.

Technical stuff can go in /usr/share/docs, but the description really should be simple, if it is intended for the general population.

I'm the package maintainer and I used the description provided by upstream (ie. Cthulhu). I'd be happy to update the description next upload.

Cthulhu: If the description you provided in the docs has changed, I'll just use that.
