Bug Description

Because of how Network Manager stores connection information as a file in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections, forward-slashes are not valid characters in the name of a connection file. When creating a connection via nm-applet, Network NManager actually substitutes the forward slash with an asterisk to the avoid the problem, so we should do the same.

Simply a matter of subst'ing the forward slash with an asterisk, but if I don't push an easy fix in the next few minutes it's not hugely important since it's rare to find networks with a forward-slash in the name (what were IS thinking!)
