Bug Description

When I try to add my Flickr account in the "Online accounts" preferences screen, the link to log in using Google/Facebook are "dead". Clicking them does nothing.

This means I can't add my account.

Hi Martijn, thanks for you bug report. I've tried to make this work, but I'm afraid it's not possible given our constraints: those buttons want to open new browser windows, but:

- if we open them in the default browser, then Yahoo signals an error (most likely because some needed cookies are missing);
- if we open them substituting the current window, things stop working right after the authentication with Facebook or Google: yahoo asks for a creation of a new account anyway ("In order to join Flickr, you need to sign in with your Yahoo! ID. If you have a Yahoo! email address, you already have a Yahoo! ID."); again, this is probably due to the change in the navigation flow.

I'm afraid that, unless we manage to find some other solution, we'll have to use the mobile version of the Flickr authentication, which doesn't show these buttons at all. :-(

I committed a "fix", which is the workaround described in the previous comment: we'll use the mobile version of the site, so the options to login with Facebook and Google will not be visible.

Changed in online-accounts-account-plugins:
assignee: nobody → Alberto Mardegan (mardy)

I sign in to my flickr account with facebook also.
When I tried to add flickr account I had the same problem:
Clicking "facebook button" does nothing.
But,
then I right click it and choosed "open link" and after that the "login in facebook" appeared, I wrote everything right and voilá

I have this problem too. I can't add my Flickr account as I can't login via Google or Facebook.

Reopening: the previous fix was not being installed into the package, so in practice it was not working.

Changed in account-plugins:

I linked to the "create-window" branch which I used to implement the opening of a new subwindow. Unfortunately, after clicking on the "Facebook" button, a page with the following error message appears:

Sorry, there was an error. Please sign in again with the same account or a different one.

So, it appears that logging in via OpenId (Facebook or Google) doesn't work when using OAuth.

We'll have to "fix" this bug but simply using the mobile version, which doesn't allow logging in via Facebook or Google. :-(

Since the login stream started using the mobile version of flickr, I can't even use the right-click workaround to login to flickr with my google account. This means I can't use flickr integration at all (I don't want a Yahoo ID). Any plans to fix this?

  * Restore the ability to create flickr accounts. This has the
unfortunate side-effect of re-opening bug 1041744, by making the

visible again, but that's a necessary evil. (LP: #1041744, #1299659)
