I tried to debootstrap an i386 system, but debootstrap failed to install
the packages, because of sed had invalid sed.info file in
/usr/share/info directory.
The file is zero-sized, if unpacked.

It stops dist-upgrade working on 'unstable' and if you attempt to
remove, it causes problems with apache.

In the meantime, I downgraded and put sed on hold, then ran dist-upgrade
again.

Just wait for the autobuilder. That's what people on non-i386 do all the
the time ;) (The package was uploaded for sparc by the maintainer,
it was there available first)

You'll have to either build it yourself or wait for the i386 buildd
admin to upload it.

Debian Way.

I don't think this bug is fixed in the latest version from upstream debian and I
couldn't find any version like the one mentined in the ubuntu mirror(plus the
fact you were talking about sparc which I don't think ubuntu supports currently)
so I figured you were talking about the version in unstable. But in anycase,
its still broken even when I retrieve the latest version. Thanks.

Fixed by sync of 4.1.2-4 from Debian (confirmed on powerpc).
