Bug Description

Attempted to install the Open VMTools packages but an error occurred during installation. VMWare running the expiramental build of WorkStation (e.x.p build 646643).

This is still broken in LTS. I don't know the specific policies, but I assumed LTS would get these type of fixes?

    Hi,

      Personally, I use the following script replacing "mdp" by my
      password

      It work for me under Xubuntu.

      but, the part

      echo mdp | sudo -S chown -R hugo /DISQUE/

      echo mdp | sudo -S chmod -R a+rwx /DISQUE/

      echo mdp | sudo -S chown -R hugo /home/hugo/

      echo mdp | sudo -S chmod -R a+rwx /home/hugo/

      is long and I must wait it's end before to shutdown ...

      good luck ...
