* Avoid trying to set background image, when requested not to (LP: #1128597)
* Instead set background color, when not displying image.
* Many settings migrated from gconf to gsettings, adjust accordingly.
* Drop gconftool.py, not needed anymore.
* Make panel.c aware of screen & display changes, prevents visual
artefacts on nexus7 when screen is changing or external monitor is
plugged in and resolution is changes.

Moving question dialog to use a glade ui file, made it non

buttons. The fix is to clear action area, all other parts of the
dialog are always reset with something fresh. (LP: #1087823)

117. * Resynchronise with Debian. Remaini...

Author: Dimitri John Ledkov
Revision Date: 2012-10-23 10:53:15 UTC

* Resynchronise with Debian. Remaining changes:
  - gptsync.patch: On Intel Mac systems, write a synced MBR rather than a
    protective MBR.
  - loop-partitions.patch: Backport some changes to allow use of
    partitionable loop devices.
  - udevadm-settle.patch: Run 'udevadm settle' either side of rereading
the partition table if not chrooted, to avoid a variety of races.
  - dmraid.patch: Don't probe dmraid devices unless they are whole disk
devices, not partitions. Also set UUID of newly created dmraid
    partition devices.
  - fix-head-size-assertion.patch: Fix probe_partition_for_geom() to fail
gracefully rather than abort with PED_ASSERT().
  - dm_p_separator.patch: Device mapper type should not automatically mean
add 'p' before the partition number. Fall back to adding it only if
the previous character is a digit. This complies with kpartx behavior
and Linux behavior "since the dawn of time".
  - remove-dev_t-dep.patch: Remove incorrect code from arch/linux.c that
made assumptions about the meaning of dev_t causing mounted partitions
to not be identified on dmraid devices and extended partition numbers
    >= 16.
  - 16-dos-partitions.patch: Handle >16 partitions on DOS partition
    tables.
  - dm-part-sync.patch: Backport fix to allow modifying partitions on
dmraid disks while other partitions are in use.
  - skip-floppy.patch: Don't probe floppy drives.
  - hfs-probe-corrupt.patch: Don't let a corrupt FS evoke a failed
    assertion.
* loop-partitions.patch: refresh, one hunk moved into debian's
  md-partitions.patch.
* Non-maintainer upload to fix partitioned md devices (bug #684713)
* backport md-partitions.patch: libparted/arch/linux.c
  (_device_get_partition_range): Use /sys/block/DEV/ext_range instead
  of range sysfs file.

  - Disable partition erasing by default, as it's very slow and only of
    moderate value.
  - Warn that the passphrase cannot be recovered if lost.
  - Allow preseeding the first passphrase prompt and
    partman-crypto/weak_passphrase.
  - Add an "Activate existing encrypted volumes" option to the
    partman-crypto main menu.

  - Change fallback VG name to Ubuntu.
  - Ask how much of the VG should be used for logical volumes, rather than
    unconditionally using it all.
  - After creating partitions, wait for devices to settle and wipe
    left-over LVM from them.
  - Set locale to "C" when calling vgs for available free space.
* Add myself to Uploaders and remove (now inactive) Anton Zinoviev

644. * Resynchronise with Debian. Remainin...

Author: Dimitri John Ledkov
Revision Date: 2012-10-20 23:40:23 UTC

* Resynchronise with Debian. Remaining changes:
  Recipe changes:
  - Adjust default partition and EFI sizes for Ubuntu.
  - Change the x86 atomic recipes to make the minimum swap size be 100% of
RAM, so that hibernate always works.
  - In addition to EFI partition, reuse existing swap partitions and
BIOS Boot Partitions, if any, rather than creating new ones.
  - Add armel/dove recipes.
  - Temporarily back out changes to recipes/atomic and recipes/home from
    partman-auto 94.
  Automatic Partitioning:
  - Offer resize_use_free autopartitioning method, except on armel/armhf.
  - Add an option to reuse an existing installation.
  - Split out the replace option from resize_use_free.
  Code changes:
  - Accept autopartitioning automatically rather than showing
    choose_partition.
  - Drop priority of partman-auto/choose_recipe question to medium.
  - Add support for partman-auto/method=loop via partman-auto-loop.
  - Make biggest_free respect the selection made in partman-auto/disk.
  - Exclude devices containing the installation medium from automatic
    partitioning.
  - Use new get_real_resize_range function from partman-partitioning
72ubuntu3, which caches calls to tune2fs and ntfsresize.
  - Support resizing the largest partition on multiple disks.
  - Support formatting the entire partition for any partition that can be
    resized.
  - Signal to clear_partitions in partman-target that it should not notify
the user about the unformatted partitions we have set up.
  - Add a hack to stop EFI System Partitions showing up as to-be-formatted
in the confirm-changes screen when there's an existing filesystem that
would cause partman-efi to skip them.
* Changes Debian merged from ubuntu:
  - EFI recipes, but not for kfreebsd and with larger system partition
sizes. Kept our efi partition sizes, which closer match Windows/Mac
    EFI partition sizes.
  - $reusemethod was also merge, but used for EFI partitions only and
not for swap & BIOS Boot Partitions.
  - Drop the bootable flag from i386/amd64 recipes.
* Dropped changes:
  - "Add kfreebsd-i386/efi, and kfreebsd-amd64/efi symlinks to regular
efi recipes." Ubuntu doesn't have kfreebsd port, and debian didn't
    take this change.

* Asturian (ast.po) by ivarela
* Add x86 UEFI support, merging some code from Ubuntu to help:
+ Add extra recipe method "reusemethod" to help us reuse existing EFI
    system partitions
+ Clone the ia64 recipes for {amd64,i386}-efi and tweak. Merge
across some of the Ubuntu settings for these new recipes, including
    use of reusemethod.
+ Make the EFI system partition large by default to meet fat32
    recommendations

Author: Dimitri John Ledkov
Revision Date: 2012-06-14 19:59:55 UTC

* Merge with Debian testing. Remaining Ubuntu changes:
  - Remove build dependency on libhdf5-serial-dev (universe). LP: #635891.
  - debian/patches/no-hdf5.diff: Comment out additional methods
    requiring HDF5.
  - debian/libvigraimpex3.symbols: Mark additional HDF5 related symbols
as optional since these won't appear in the library.
  - Build using dh_python2
  - debian/patches/debian-changes-1.7.1+dfsg1-2ubuntu1: refactor
    include/vigra/noise_normalization.hxx
* Dropped changes:
  - 1.7.1+dfsg1-2ubuntu1 upload introduced an auto-generated patch with
merge conflicts and changes to include/vigra/numpy_array.hxx, which
got reverted in the 1.7.1+dfsg1-2ubuntu2 upload by ending
sizeof_ldbl_not_sizeof_dbl.diff to fix FTBFS. I have dropped merge
conflicts & changes to numpy_array.hxx in both patches. Remaining
  change is documented above.

* Make mdadm-raid init script depend on hostname; thanks to Mario
 'BitKoenig' Holbe (closes: #610421).

* don't print W: auto-read-only in checkarray in quiet mode,
thanks to Bernd Hanisch for the patch (Closes: #605722, #632797)

* Merge from Debian testing. (LP: #920324) Remaining changes:
  - Call checks in local-premount to avoid race condition with udev
    and opening a degraded array.
  - d/initramfs/mdadm-functions: Record in /run when boot-degraded
question has been asked so that it is only asked once
  - pass --test to mdadm to enable result codes for degraded arrays.
  - Build udeb with -O2 on ppc64, working around a link error.
  - debian/control: we need udev and util-linux in the right version. We
also remove the build dependency from quilt and docbook-to-man as both
are not used in Ubuntus mdadm.
  - debian/initramfs/hook: kept the Ubuntus version for handling the absence
of active raid arrays in <initramfs>/etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf
  - debian/initramfs/script.local-top.DEBIAN, debian/mdadm-startall,
debian/mdadm.raid.DEBIAN: removed. udev does its job now instead.
  - debian/mdadm-startall.sgml, debian/mdadm-startall.8: documentation of
    unused startall script
  - debian/mdadm.config, debian/mdadm.postinst - let udev do the handling
instead. Resolved merge conflict by keeping Ubuntu's version.
  - debian/mdadm.postinst, debian/mdadm.config, initramfs/init-premount:
    boot-degraded enablement; maintain udev starting of RAID devices;
init-premount hook script for the initramfs, to provide information at
    boot
  - debian/mkconf.in is the older mkconf. Kept the Ubuntu version.
  - debian/rules: Kept Ubuntus version for installing apport hooks, not
installing un-used startall script and for adding a udev rule
    corresponding to mdadm.
  - debian/install-rc, check.d/_numbers, check.d/root_on_raid: Ubuntu partman
    installer changes
  - debian/presubj: Dropped this unused bug reporting file. Instead use
source_mdadm.py act as an apport hook for bug handling.
  - rename debian/mdadm.vol_id.udev to debian/mdadm.mdadm-blkid.udev so that
the rules file ends up with a more reasonable name
  - d/p/debian-changes-3.1.4-1+8efb9d1ubuntu4: mdadm udev rule
incrementally adds mdadm member when detected. Starting such an
array in degraded mode is possible by mdadm -IRs. Using mdadm
-ARs without stopping the array first does nothing when no
mdarray-unassociated device is available. Using mdadm -IRs to
start a previously partially assembled array through incremental
mode. Keeping the mdadm -ARs for assembling arrays which were for
some reason not assembled through incremental mode (i.e through
    mdadm's udev rule).

* d/initramfs/mdadm-functions: Record in /run when boot-degraded
question has been asked so that it is only asked once (LP: #820111)
* d/control: add dependency on initscripts >= 2.88dsf-13.3 to ensure
  /run exists per http://wiki.debian.org/ReleaseGoals/RunDirectory
* d/rules: fix FTBFS by adding -Wno-unused-but-set-variable to
compiler flags until upstream solves the issue. (LP: #829463)

d/initramfs/mdadm-functions: Record in /tmp when boot-degraded
question has been asked so that it is only asked once (LP: #820111)
Backported from oneiric, replacing /run with /tmp since neither
/run nor /var/run are available this early in natty's boot.
