I can reproduce this issue by setting the install config with a post_files setting and observe the output not including the requested file. A workaround is to include a level value in the reporting dictionary set to the value of 'DEBUG'.

Curtin will likely default the level to DEBUG to retain sending all information to MAAS, which can use the level value in the events to filter as they like.
